David Scherler is the Blended Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. He and Kathy moved there in December of 2020.   He leads worship each week in the Blended Service at 9:30 AM  on Sunday.   He oversees the Choir, Orchestra, Senior Adult Choir, and Music Academy. The worship services are broadcast weekly on Christian Family Network Television (local over-the-air channel 24.1 and cable) and simulcast on Facebook and YouTube.

He previously served Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving, Tx. as Minister of Music from 1995 to 2000. David returned to Plymouth Park in 2009 as Worship Pastor. and served there until moving to Wichita Falls. He has been in the ministry for over 30 years serving churches in Texas and Oklahoma. David received Bachelors of Arts in Music / Vocal Performance from Cameron University and his Masters in Music, with a concentration in Vocal Performance from Texas A&M at Commerce. David has led Worship for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, The Southern Baptist of Texas and The Baptist General Convention of Texas Evangelism Conferences, The National Southern Baptist Conference on Church Leadership, and many evangelistic meetings and conferences worldwide.  His choirs and orchestras have sung in musical premiers, and conferences, and presented concerts and musicals nationally and internationally. David and Kathy have two sons, Kent and Kale, who are also musicians and play for bands located in the DFW Metroplex.  They have three grandchildren, Anna Claire, David, and Logan.  David’s hobbies include watching basketball and football, computers, recording, concerts, and motorcycles. His greatest joy is leading worship with his wife Kathy and the wonderful choir, and orchestra at First Baptist Church.
